"Options for powering future transport include hybrids, electric vehicles, range-enhanced electric vehicles and fuel cells. These technologies will help reduce tailpipe CO2 emissions, but what about the life cycle CO2 footprint? Using life cycle assessment (LCA) techniques, Ricardo has conducted high-level CO2 comparisons of the technology options, identifying the factors that make the biggest contribution and encouraging the move to a life cycle philosophy for future developments."
