"This talk will explore how mobile communications has evolved in the UK since the launch of GSM in 1992. The network architecture of 2G GSM technology will be explored along with the evolution of 2G data services prior to discussing how 3G came about. The talk will conclude with a review of the latest developments in 4G and provide an overview of 5G mobile technology which not only supports voice, data and video, but is optimised for mission critical communications and the Internet of Things."
