"There is much interest in civil, security and defence sectors in wideband and multi-band antennas for communications and sensor applications, ranging over the entire spectrum from HF to millimetre wave frequencies. Wideband / multi-band antennas are required for mobile communications and this need will increase with the growth of 4G and 5G, possibly incorporating massive-MIMO. Spectrum deregulation offers opportunities for applications such as cognitive radio, the use of millimetre wavelengths"
