"The application of horizontal drilling along with hydraulic fracturing has greatly increased the ability to exploit natural gas from deep and low permeability shale formations. However, the geoenvironmental uncertainties have increasingly generated public concerns. This talk aims to provide an update and up-to-date review on the geoenvironmental aspects of shale gas exploitation. An overview of shale gas evolution, world-wide resources and potentials will be provided."
