China presents:

Lecture: Salt marshes' carbon sequestion capacity may be higher than we thought More Events

Speaker:
Prof Ling Li
Date/Time:
Wednesday 30th November 2022 @ 7:30 AM Local time (UTC/GMT)
Venue:
Online via Zoom
Details:
"Salt marshes are blue carbon ecosystems with high carbon burial rates. Its carbon cycling has received increasing attention on the processes driving soil carbon stocks and carbon burial. However, carbon fluxes via groundwater flushing in salt marshes are potentially important yet poorly understood. Recent studies by Prof Ling Li and his team found that pore-water exchange could produce a significant component in the saltmarsh carbon budget. And this lecture is about his research finding."
