"Fusion is the combination of atomic nuclei, releasing vast amounts of energy. In nature, fusion occurs in the centre of stars but can it be harnessed on earth? "I'm an Engineer, Get me out of here" winner Stevie will explain the principles behind magnetic confinement fusion; the current state of fusion research; and the next steps for development of commercial fusion power. He will also talk about the design and operation of the power supplies for the Joint European Torus (JET) experiment."
