"Gravitational waves were observed for the first time on the ground by the LIGO space mission. LISA Pathfinder has been launched to further the measurement of gravitational waves from space. Dr Trenkel will describe the motivation behind the century old quest to observe gravitational waves and present recent in-flight results obtained from LISA Pathfinder."
