""This talk follows on from Pete Mason's presentation in January 2020 in which he looked at the challenges of replacing diesel engines with batteries and electric motors. With the choice of Lithium Ion battery made, and some typical branch-line routes examined, the next stage is to work out how to safely deliver substantial re-charge from the trackside into the batteries whilst on a ten minute layover, involving very high current power transfer via third and fourth"
