About this event:
Explore the critical importance of preventing cascading failures to maintain electricity grid resilience. This lecture, led by Sygensys CEO Andrew Larkins, examines the lessons from the 2025 Iberian blackout and discusses emerging threats to reliability in our shift towards renewable energy.
Why attend this event:
On April 28, 2025, a blackout impacted Spain, Portugal, and parts of southwest France, leaving over 50 million people without power. This lecture will explain why preventing the domino effect, of a cascading fault, is critical to grid resilience. It will highlight emerging threats to reliability as we transition to a renewable generation dominated system.
