"One of the major barriers in autonomous vehicle research is testing new technologies in real world scenarios. Much research is taking place around the world to test new functionalities, vehicle systems and sensor devices using simulators. The motion simulators can be enhanced with game-based technologies such as augmented and virtual reality to replicate real world environments within which new autonomous vehicle concepts can be tested and validated in different scenarios."
