"Pye can be considered as one of the founding companies within the Cambridge Phenomenon. How the company grew from a start-up in a garden shed in Cambridge in 1896 to a leading technology company, will be described by Bob Bates and Richard Howes of the Pye History Trust. At its peak in 1966, there were more than 60 companies within the Pye organisation employing 30,000 staff worldwide including 7,000 in the Cambridge area."
