"This talk is an introduction to Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) and its military equivalent and forebear known as IFF or Identification Friend or Foe. The origins and the differences between Civil & Military use of such systems will be explained. The talk will cover how SSR and IFF work including the Uplink and ground link aspects and the implementation and real-world deployment issues associated with secondary radar."
