There has been a vast development of machine learning algorithms over the last few years, specifically over the late four years.

It is presently difficult to see how aviation will become completely de-carbonised on any sort of near-term timescale. However and as is often the case in engineering, there are likely to be a progression of small technology steps forward which will eventually realise a valuable overall benefit. Technologies yet to be identified are also likely to contribute to this.
