"The Davyhulme site is one of the largest wastewater treatment works in the UK. It serves 1.2 million people on the western side of Manchester. The plant treats around 30,000 litres/sec of wastewater. Recent investment in the site means it now meets new water quality guidelines. New inlet works, settlement tanks and aeration lanes have been constructed and a new odour control system provides improved containment of odours within the site boundaries. The site is carbon neutral."
