"The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) is the UK's independent railway accident body. It investigates accidents and incidents on the railways with the sole aim of improving safety; it has no role in establishing criminality or liability. This talk will outline what the RAIB do and how they work, using examples of investigations to highlight where engineering has played a significant part in identifying accident causes."
