- About this event:
- This study unveils the biomechanical advantages of traditional Chinese Xiegong clogs. Research combining musculoskeletal simulation and experimental trials with healthy adults confirms that these ancient footwear designs, particularly with a single peg, significantly reduce metabolic cost and lower limb muscle activation during steep uphill and downhill walking. The findings validate historical claims and suggest modern biomechanical applications for ancient footwear principles.
