"The visit consists of an introduction to the use and operation of the plant and includes a guided site tour of the facility. Residual waste from is processed at the plant. After the removal of recyclables, residual waste is transported to the plant by rail and road and then safely incinerated to produce electricity. The Runcorn plant is one of the largest ERFs in the UK. The facility treats more than a million tonnes of waste per annum."
