"The increasing penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as micro-generators and electric vehicles in the electricity network is expected to raise issues with the reliability of the power system, due to the lack of controllability of their energy output. As their numbers increase, it would become impractical or difficult to control them centrally. In this talk, we will discuss the concept of controlling these resources in a decentralised manner, using intelligent software agents."
